Interactive Meteosat (IM) MultiLanguage version was released on July 2011 by TERRASIGNA (former ASRC) on its website. The application was provided in 8 languages: Danish, German, Greek, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, and Portuguese. Also, the Romanian public could use the version in its native language.
The original English version of Interactive Meteosat application was operational starting with the end of 2010. It was part of the training program of the Geospace Center, established by the "Babes-Bolyai" University in Cluj-Napoca in partnership with TERRASIGNA. ESA representatives also used it for educational purposes related with EO domain.
Interactive Meteosat is an educational software application for teaching students on satellite meteorology, allowing them: to observe and to record meteorological observations, to upload them onto Eduspace, to compare them with what they see on the Meteosat satellite imagery and with other observations submitted throughout Europe.
IM is a web-based interactive application user friendly, built entirely with standard compliant free and open source software applications.
